No, It does not require any prepration.
We need to dispel the myth that abdominal ultrasound requires overnight fasting. The purpose of fasting is to visualize the distended gallbladder, which can be achieved effectively with a 4-hour fasting period, thanks to today's state-of-the-art ultrasound machines. You can have breakfast in the morning, a light lunch at 12 PM, and refrain from eating or drinking anything except water after that. Begin drinking water slowly 2 hours before your evening appointment to ensure your bladder is full.
We do not differentiate between upper and lower abdomen ultrasounds; we only conduct whole abdomen ultrasounds. Please follow the preparation instructions for Ultrasound Abdomen as mentioned above.
You need to come with a full bladder as we perform both trans-abdominal and trans-vaginal sonography. It is preferable for you to wear a sari. TVS examination is conducted only for married women.
If you are unmarried, you should come with a full bladder for trans-abdominal sonography. If you are married, it is preferable to undergo a TVS examination as it provides more detailed information.
You don’t need to come with a full bladder. We also perform TVS as part of the same examination. In addition to NT-NB evaluation, we conduct a detailed anatomical study of the fetus, along with different Doppler studies. We also calculate the risk for pregnancy induced hypertension (pre-eclampsia).
Prefer to wear loose clothes, and if you have open wounds with dressings, please remove them. Bring an extra dressing to redress the wound area. The rest of the USG procedures do not require any preparations.
Please take one day prior appointment for the intervention procedure. The following blood pre-intervention tests are required:
1) Viral markers - HBsAg, Anti HCV, HIV I & II
2) Platelets and INR
